Welcome 2010!

Finally...I finished this family growth chart. I have been planning this project on my head for about three years. Then after H was born my dad helped me get the project out of my head and in my garage (where it sat cut, sanded, and ready to assemble) for almost six months. Long enough for one of the long trim pieces to warp. Oh well. This past week I took advantage of Shawn's days off and finished what had been started.

We marked our heights today and then will take the kids' measures on their next birthdays.



I painted the wood but the words and numbers and tick marks I bought here on etsy. They are those vinyl wall decals. And to think I was considering handpainting something- I would have ruined it.




Now, don't look too closely. This is waaaay out of my craft realm. But not bad for a first try. Besides, I am sure this is something our next team of movers will find a way to nick-up/scratch/break.

Not a Princess

So you remember that S is going to dress up as Cinderella for Halloween, right? But when you pee in your princess dress 7 minutes before we have to leave for a fall carnival...you are a cowgirl. At that moment your mama turns into SuperMama as fast as Peter Parker turns into Spiderman and says "Open your closet and bring me your dress up bucket!" Then you are not a princess.... She didn't resist. She had no choice. What? Go as a wet Cinderella? Gasp! Wet? Not a princess!

And this guy just rode the stroller. Happily.
