Home from vacation now back to work

She isn't going to know what hit her tomorrow. I am starting work and she is starting day care. All day long. We tell her it is school. She will tell you that at her school they will give her lunch, read her books, and change her "diapee." Seems like she's ready to me!

[Stella just got this Disney Princess chair for her birthday...she drug it into my room this morning when she woke up. She then began hoisting it up onto my bed...I had to convince her to leave it on the floor. Katie, better than the wheelbarrow!]

I am not nervous about working. (Don't be fooled, I am only working two days a week.) I am concerned about not getting my after lunch nap. I was practically drooling on myself today after lunch I was so tired. Growing a baby (while keeping up with Nick & Stella) can be exhausting.

Lucky me

Now, very rarely do you benefit from not doing what you are supposed to.

I blogged about it on my Made By KateAnn spot since it is really about me and sewing (not the kids, I know they are more interesting!).

But I can just say, Martha, I will be bringing you your birthday present afterall! Here's a peek:

The Countdown Has Begun

The kids and I made this poster yesterday. Hopefully this helps them understand how much longer until we go to Florida. They both ask everyday. Stella says, "Please. Go Gammy's. Me? Go now?" And she is ready to go now. Nick just asks how many more days. But he asks every few hours...

Nick told me what to write. Then I wrote the countdown. Finally, Nicholas and I drew pictures of things that are going on each day between now and when we leave. Stella added some purple scribbles.

What? You mean you can't tell we have swimming lessons on Wednesday? : )

Guess who got the first goal?!

Yep. I could hardly believe it! So at least he kinda understood what to do out there. But I will tell you what- it is chaos. I had never watched a four-year-old's soccer game before. It was quite entertaining. Amusing. They are so cute out there. Nicholas' favorite part was running with three other boys during the half time. Too bad is was severely windy or I would post a short movie.

Stella ate the whole time.

I posted the rest of the pictures on our flickr link (see right).

On the mend...some of us

So I think Nick is feeling much better. Antibiotics can be amazing. He was back to his normal self today (mostly pestering the heck out of Stella). He slept better last night, too.

Stella, I am not so sure. I will see when she wakes up in the morning. We might head back to the Dr. The urgent care gave her an antibiotic last week and it just isn't doing what Nick's is doing. Hmmm.

Me, I don't know WHAT happened. I can hardly talk. Just sinuses (again) I think. I am just drained. I put them to bed an hour ago and I haven't heard a peep from either one. Maybe I will get some good sleep tonight!

BUT what MADE my DAY...Shawn told me that he will be bringing home four bottles of V. Sattui's Gamay Rouge. I guess Shawn didn't get to go to Napa Valley yesterday, but Mike did. Oh thank you, Mike. (Dhana, THANK you to your wonderful and thoughtful husband!! It's the crew concept we were just talking about yesterday!) I have been out of that since at least, June '05.

This is my favorite winery. Someday I will take Shawn there for a tasting and a picnic. Holy Cannoli I am a happy woman.

Here are some pictures of the birthday we forced upon Stella.

It's going to be a long week

Well, I am posting so you will cut me some (more) slack this week.

-Flying "solo" this week
- Stella got the pink eye Friday then she got the pink "eyes" on Sunday.
- Both kids were sick, not getting better, getting worse in fact
- Took them to the dr. today: Stella we just took her off the eye drops that were making her a mess and Nick has a bit of pneumonia.
- My strep culture was neg today, so I am just coming down with "something" in the midst of this.
It is going to be a long week.

I don't get why they/we are sick so much this year.
